Last Thursday, the mayor of Arrecife signed two more decrees halting other contracts to the company Click Asistencia, linked to a local police officer from Arrecife, removing them again from the same to the deputy mayor of the capital, Echedey Eugenio.
This is the contracting of the vehicle storage service and the crane service for the transfer of wrecked vehicles. In both decrees, the mayor also requests a "legal report in relation to the prohibition to contract or conflict of interest concurrent with the company Click Asistencia SL."
Until September 19, 2023, the sole administrator of Click Asistencia SL was an agent of the Arrecife Local Police force, which would be one of the incompatibilities of contracting with the public administration. In addition to the consultation on incompatibility, De León requires the contracting table to clarify if the local police officer "has had any type of participation in the drafting of the Technical Specifications".
In both contracts, the deputy mayor is also removed from his powers. The paralysis is based on "verifying the proper practices to avoid any type of conduct of fraud, favoritism or corruption", so "the powers delegated in matters of contracting to the Delegate Councilor Don Echedey Eugenio are assumed", as literally stated in the decrees.
