The Emilia storm will continue to leave some residual effects on Lanzarote and La Graciosa this Sunday, December 14, although with a clear trend towards improvement. According to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), cloudy intervals are expected with a low probability of rain, generally light and concentrated in the second half of the day.

Temperatures will experience a slight increase, while the wind will blow from the northeast, subsiding and shifting to a light northwest wind from the early hours. On the other hand, the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium has reported that, as of 00:00 hours last night, **the Insular Special Emergency Plan (PEIN),** activated during the storm's passage over the island, **has been concluded**

However, not all measures have been lifted. Vigilance for adverse coastal phenomena remains in place, with waves that can reach between 4 and 6 meters, so access to the northern, western, and southwestern coastlines of Lanzarote, as well as the entire coast of the island of La Graciosa, continues to be restricted. Authorities insist on exercising extreme caution and respecting safety recommendations.

Twenty-five incidents

Storm Emilia has left dozens of incidents in its wake on the island, especially in the municipalities of Arrecife and Teguise, where flooded streets and overflowing sewers were recorded, expelling a large amount of wipes and waste, as happened on Cienfuegos street and in the Charco de San Ginés area of the capital, and in the Las Cucharas area of Costa Teguise

In the Plazuela, personnel from the Security and Emergencies Consortium, along with Civil Protection, had to intervene to pump out the accumulated water. In total, the meteorological event caused 25 incidents in Lanzarote, mainly related to localized flooding, blockages, trees about to fall, and problems with the sanitation network

Authorities remind that, although the situation is tending to normalize, it is important to remain cautious, especially in coastal areas and during rain episodes, even if they are light.
