The Cabildo of Lanzarote will activate the Island Emergency Plan (PEIN) this Friday due to the rain, strong winds, storms, and rough seas that will affect the island this weekend, as confirmed to La Voz by the Emergency Consortium.
Due to this, all outdoor activities will be suspended starting at 5:00 PM this Friday in the seven municipalities of Lanzarote
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated three alerts on the island, three yellow alerts for wind, rain, and storms for December 13. During the early hours of Saturday, the yellow alert for adverse coastal phenomena will become orange, with waves that could reach seven meters in height.
As for the wind, it will blow with gusts that could reach and exceed 70 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, rain is expected, which could leave accumulations of up to 15 millimeters per hour, with a probability between 40% and 70%. In addition, there will be a probability of storms.
