Storm Celia has left gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour in Lanzarote in the north and has flooded some streets of Arrecife and Tahíche in the early hours of this Tuesday.
Firefighters have had to act in the usual black spots of the capital, which usually flood when heavy rains arrive, such as Cuatro Esquinas, Calle Gómez Ulla, the area of Calle Portugal and also in Calle Manolo Millares, on the outskirts of Arrecife. In addition, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium, they have also acted on Tuesday morning in the autocovid of the Fairgrounds, which was flooded with water, so that they could start testing at 09:00.
On the other hand, the Néstor de La Torre avenue in Tahíche had to be closed in the early morning, especially due to the danger it posed for motorcycles. The Emergency Consortium indicates that at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, that road has been reopened to traffic.
In relation to the gusts of wind suffered on the Island, in addition to reaching 90 kilometers per hour in Haría, they were also strongly felt in different parts of Lanzarote. In fact, in Tinajo gusts of 82 kilometers per hour were reached, while in the Aemet stations of the César Manrique airport and in Tías gusts of 78 kilometers per hour were recorded.
