Tías, Arrecife and San Bartolomé have achieved the highest score in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands in reference to the latest transparency evaluation of 2022-2023. Thirty-two of the 187 municipal entities have obtained a 10 in the ITCanarias.

Regarding the other municipalities on the island, Teguise has managed to remain in the ranking with the highest score of 9.61 points. In addition, Haría has also achieved a good score with 9.35 points. The municipalities of Tinajo and Yaiza have managed to be on par with a score of 7.78 and 7.75. For the first time, Tinajo approves.

In addition, the municipalities of the Canary Islands and their entities have achieved an average of 7.73 in this latest evaluation, the highest since the first evaluation. The local public sector is made up of the 88 municipalities of the Canary Islands and their 99 dependent entities.

In the ITCanarias 2021, the average was 7.37. This sector is made up of 187 entities, of which 178 submitted the transparency declaration in this latest evaluation, 95.19%. This represents a slight decrease in compliance, since in the evaluation of ITCanarias 2021 it had been achieved that all entities in the local public sector participated in the evaluation.

A total of 105 local entities achieved scores above 8 points. Of these, 32 have obtained a score of 10 in the ITCanarias. This is a significant improvement compared to the first years of evaluation, because in 2017 there were only 15 entities with scores higher than 8. Likewise, the number of entities that do not reach a score of 5 is reduced to 28; compared to the 31 who did not achieve it in the previous evaluation.

In the last evaluation, only three entities did not exceed two points: Suministros de Agua La Oliva, S.A. (Municipality of La Oliva), Residencia Geriátrica Nuestra Señora de la Luz (Municipality of Los Silos) and Consorcio Museo Néstor (Municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).

Regarding the portals of the municipalities themselves, twelve municipalities have received the highest recognition. Among them, Los Realejos, Santiago del Teide, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Los Llanos de Aridane, Garafía, Breña Baja, Candelaria, Telde, and Breña Alta. On the contrary, nine municipal portals still did not reach five points in the last evaluation: Valle Gran Rey, Moya, Tuineje, Artenara, Betancuria, Los Silos, Güímar, Firgas and Antigua.
