The passage of storm Emilia through Lanzarote was noticeable throughout the past weekend, leaving images of rainwater running down the island's ravines and hours and hours of incessant precipitation
According to data provided by the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, hundreds of liters of rain accumulated at various stations on the island between last Friday, December 12, and Sunday, December 14.
The station that detected the largest amount of rain was the one at the Yaiza soccer field, in the town of the same name, where 91.8 millimeters of rain were recorded, or what is the same, 91.8 liters per square meter in three days.After Yaiza, the second rainiest station on the island was the one at the Los Valles Socio-Cultural Center, in Teguise, where up to 72 liters of precipitation per square meter accumulated over the weekend.In third place, the Montaña Blanca Socio-Cultural Center, in San Bartolomé, recorded up to 60 millimeters of rain in three days. This same figure was also noted at the rain gauge installed in Uga, in the municipality of Yaiza.In addition to the rainfall in these municipalities, there was also precipitation recorded at the Civil Protection headquarters in Tías, where 50.8 liters per square meter were registered, and at the Tinajo Socio-Cultural Center, where 45.6 millimeters fell over the weekend.It also rained insistently in Haría, with 39.6 millimeters of rain accumulating in Arrieta, while 42.8 millimeters were recorded in the village's wrestling arena in Haría.To a lesser extent, it rained in the towns that were affected by the April floods. In the case of Arrecife, the stations recorded 33.4 millimeters on Tenderete street and 24.2 on Punta de los Vientos, less than other values reached on the island. Meanwhile, at the Las Cucharas station, in Costa Teguise, 31.6 millimeters of rain were recorded.
