The CEO Montaña Roja of Playa Blanca has not been able to open its doors this Monday due to leaks and the detachment of parts of the roof caused by the rains from Storm Emilia. Specifically, the images show how the Secondary school building, where the ESO classrooms and the Basic Vocational Training Cycle are located, has suffered flooding from various water leaks.
After the center's management met on Sunday morning with municipal representatives and the Ministry of Education, and in view of the serious damage to the building's infrastructure, it was decided that during this week, classes in Secondary Education and the Agrarian Vocational Training Degree will be held remotely, as the module is unusable and there is a serious risk of ceiling collapse.
This way, taking into account the arrival of the holiday period, the workers will have time to carry out the necessary repairs and these two stages will be able to **return to the classrooms on January 8** safely. Furthermore, the outings and extracurricular activities planned for these stages for this week are also postponed until further notice.Meanwhile, in the Administration, Early Childhood Education, and Primary Education buildings, no damage has occurred, so classes in these stages will indeed be **in-person**, and the week can proceed with complete normality.
The Ministry of Education has explained on its website that, regarding the Christmas celebration scheduled for next Friday the 19th, only the part corresponding to Early Childhood and Primary Education will be held, as Secondary and Vocational Training students, unable to access their classrooms, will not have the opportunity to finish preparing their Christmas market.
