The chambermaids and room attendants of the Be Live Experience Hotel have decided in assembly and unanimously to start an indefinite strike from August 23. "They have taken so much from us that we have even lost our fear," say the workers of the company Genser, who already held a one-day strike on August 10.
From CCOO they affirm that the management of the company "has not even deigned to respond to the proposal presented by the Works Council for the de-call" of the strike, for which they requested an agreement "that limits the workloads to levels that are bearable for the health of the workers." "We have only received pressure and intimidation, no response or solution whatsoever," they say.
CCOO also understands that "the workers' right to strike has been violated, since representatives of the company have tried to pressure the workers, even asking the workers who were going to support the strike on August 10 to raise their hands and sign a document", a fact that the union points out that "has already been reported to the Labor Inspectorate."

Therefore, in the Workers' Assembly held this Thursday, the employees unanimously and in a secret vote decided to start the indefinite strike from August 23. And, after the "success" of the past strike day, supported by 100% of the staff, "the workers are willing to maintain the indefinite strike until the company sits down to negotiate the workload, which is costing them their health."
Support "from all over Spain"
From CCOO, new informative pickets have already been organized, as well as new concentrations at the doors of the hotel. In addition, the Strike Committee has already organized a 'Solidarity Resistance Fund', "where union delegates and works councils from all over the Canary Islands are willing to support these colleagues in everything that is necessary, even economically, in what is expected to be a long struggle."
The workers have publicly thanked all the support received in a video broadcast on social networks. "The clients have also shown solidarity with them through comments on opinion pages of the hotel," they point out from CCOO, from where they conclude by pointing out that "workers, committees, union sections and chambermaids from all over Spain have sent messages of support and encouragement to continue the fight that these brave women have started."
