The park in the La Vega neighborhood, in Arrecife, "has become a focus of dirt and incivility of the youth, who daily deteriorate the space and prevent the rest of the residents of the area", according to a reader's complaint to La Voz.
“They are drinking all day and with loud music, the residents of La Vega deserve to rest”, says the neighbor, who recounts episodes of continuous fights and that she was even almost affected in one, since it was at the door of her house.
“They even cut their hair there, throw garbage on the ground and the park has a strong stench of urine daily”, she adds. In addition, she harshly criticizes the Arrecife City Council, as she assures that “no one passes by there”, and that even when she has called the Police alerting of a fight, “no one has come”.
“The neighbors want this situation to be visible, and for someone to come from time to time to educate these young people to, at least, throw the garbage in the trash can and not on the ground. We are very tired”, she laments.
