"Rip-off". That's how a reader describes the fact that the production company organizing the Festival del Humor Canario has refused to "return the money" for the ticket, after announcing that, after the cancellation of the event, the tickets could be exchanged for new ones for the next date or for the amount of the ticket in cash.
This festival had to be postponed to August 27, after the sound problems that were suffered in its celebration on Saturday, July 3, and that led the comedian Manolo Vieira himself to leave the stage. The production company then apologized to those affected and assured that it would proceed to exchange the ticket for a new one or to disburse the money. However, according to this neighbor, it seems that this is not the case.
In this way, she explains that she went to the office set up for this purpose but there she was informed that, for the moment, "the money is not returned". "They should know that when people buy their ticket, they buy it for a date on which they can or want to go," says this neighbor, who adds that "the most logical thing" is that they return the money, especially when the production company itself announced this possibility.
After the consequent "anger" of the woman, they took her data and informed her that "on August 7 they would try to return the money to the people who have requested it". But, "not to everyone", specifies this neighbor, "but to the people who have priority, due to work issues, trips", and so on.
Likewise, this woman adds that when the event was first scheduled it lasted five hours, for "a reasonable price", but now, "the thing is that it lasts three hours". "The most logical thing is that people choose what to do with their ticket. People who want to attend, their ticket is exchanged, and those who don't, their money is returned," she concludes.
