The Orvecame Isla de Lanzarote Rally is postponed to December 5th and 6th

The bad weather was one of the reasons that led to the cancellation of the thirty-sixth edition of the Orvecame Isla de Lanzarote Rally, a motor racing event in which the title of champion of the Canary Islands had to be decided. The Las Palmas Automobile Federation has announced that the rally will take place next week, specifically on December 5 and 6, a date that has been agreed with all the teams entered in the last rally of the season.

Most of the teams have advocated for proximity, proposing that the Orvecame Isla de Lanzarote Rally take place on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6, maintaining the schedule and timed sections initially planned. The participating teams will be able to leave the assistance and competition cars in Lanzarote, not having to assume a second trip to participate in the Lanzarote event.

The Las Palmas Automobile Federation has announced that the entire program initially planned will be repeated, with the same schedules, road book and assistance areas, and the implementation of a Security Plan adapted to the new date. The opening ceremony would take place on Friday, December 5 at 8:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Cabrera Medina in Playa Honda. On Saturday, the nine timed sections of the rally will be held.

The organizers hope to have the approval of the Island Council of Lanzarote and other entities and institutions that collaborate in the Orvecame Isla de Lanzarote Rally, with the purpose of being able to develop the event without setbacks. A rally that puts an end to the motor racing season in the Canary Islands. Enrique Cruz and Fernando Capdevilla are the two drivers who have options to be proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands. For his part, Yeray Lemes will be looking for his fourth consecutive victory in the Orvecame Isla de Lanzarote Rally, this time with a Ford Escort WRC from the Auto Laca team.
