Several crew members of the Spanish Challenge 2007 that will compete in the next edition of the Louis Vuitton Cup are participating from this Wednesday in the first Puerto Calero 'Match-Race' Trophy that will be held in this town in Lanzarote until December 4.

The participation of the members of the Spanish team is part of their sports preparation, and the crew of the Spanish Challenge regularly attends various events on the national and international 'match-race' circuit.

In the last of them, the Master of Spain held in Bayona last week, the crew members of the Spanish Challenge obtained an outstanding performance, with the second position obtained by Jesper Radich, and the fourth place of Santi López Vázquez, two of the helmsmen of the Spanish Challenge. On the other hand, the crews led by Juan Luis Páez and Marcos Iglesias obtained fifth and eighth place respectively.

A total of 13 crew members of the Spanish syndicate will attend the Puerto Calero Match Race Trophy, forming two complete teams and two other mixed teams. Santi López Vázquez and Jesper Radich will be in charge of the first ones, and Juan Luis Páez and Marcos Iglesias will be commanding the mixed teams.

Among the sailors of the Spanish Challenge are Aureliano Negrín from Lanzarote and Domingo Manrique from Gran Canaria, who are very familiar with the Puerto Calero regatta field.
