In all the pools, CL Unión Sur Yaiza appeared as the main candidate to win the title of champion in the youth category, and once again sport shows that it does not understand favorites. CL Tao was superior to CL Unión Sur Yaiza in the final of the youth category of the Isla de Lanzarote Tournament and that earned them the title of champion. Cristo Betancort was one of the architects of the victory of CL Tao, giving in land with four opponents and eliminating fighters of the stature of Alejandro Umpiérrez or Raúl Caraballo.
The final of the youth category of the Isla de Lanzarote Tournament began with tremendous equality. Dany López gave Javier Quesada two in a row, putting the first point on the CL Tao scoreboard. Cristian Morales was in charge of tying, eliminating Pedro Antonio Felipe. José Alberto Perdomo and Cristo Betancort, in the ranks of CL Tao, eliminated Daniel Cobos and Cristian Morales. And in the southerners, Houssui Machín and Alberto Brito, were in charge of putting the tie at three on the scoreboard.
One of the first advantages on the scoreboard was for CL Tao, going with a clear 5 to 3. Hacomar Elvira gave Jordi Reinosa two in a row and Cristo Betancor began to stand out also giving Houssui Machín two in a row. The next four points were for CL Unión Sur Yaiza, turning the score around to go 5 to 7 in their favor. Alberto Brito, Homero de la Cruz, Joshua Morales and Raúl Caraballo, were in charge of leaving José Antonio de la Torre, Hacomar Elvira, Adrián Hernández and Carlos Betancort out of the fight, respectively.
Cristian Mena and Dany López, were in charge of returning equality to the scoreboard of the youth final. Cristian Mena gave Homero de la Cruz two in a row and Dany López did the same with Joshua Morales, being eliminated one of the important fighters of CL Unión sur Yaiza. Cristo Betancort eliminated Raúl Caraballo to put Tao ahead on the scoreboard again and Fabio Martín gave Dany López two in a row, to put the tie at 8 on the scoreboard.
One of the key clashes of the final was the one that measured Cristo Betancort (CL Tao) against Alejandro Umpiérrez (CL Unión Sur Yaiza). The CL Tao fighter completed a magnificent performance and gave two in a row to another of the important men of Yaiza. Previously, Cristian Mena, fight by fight, had defeated Iván Blanco, and the scoreboard already reflected a clear 10 to 8 in favor of CL Tao. Cristian Mena and Carlos Hidalgo were in charge of finishing the job, putting the definitive 12 to 8. Cristian Mena gave Alberto Brito two in a row and Carlos Hidalgo, fight by fight, prevailed over Fabio Martín.
CL Tao prevailed in the grand final of the youth category of the Isla de Lanzarote Canarian Wrestling Tournament, and celebrated on the pitch the triumph achieved on Sunday morning at the Ulpiano Rodríguez de Tías. The Sports Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín, was in charge of presenting the champion's cup to CL Tao. Francisco Reyes (CLD Tías) was awarded as the top thrower of the competition and Rubén Niz (CL Unión Norte) was awarded as the most spectacular fighter in the youth category.
