More than 300 people enjoyed this Saturday's Mascaritas Race, the first event of the VI Tinajo Popular Race Cup, organized by the council and Cronone. At 10:00 a.m. the 5 and 10 kilometer race began and at 11:30 a.m. the youngest ones started, divided into 4 groups by age. The race is part of the Carnival 2023 program, prepared by the Tinajo City Council.
“I want to thank all the runners who have participated in the race and have done so in disguise, filling this event with color and atmosphere, corresponding to our program of Carnival events. The organization has done an excellent job and that is reflected every year, in which we are adding more participants. Congratulations to the winners,” said the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín.
In the men's 5 km category, the winner was Antonio Jesús Atienza, who crossed the finish line in first position with a time of 19:26. Hugo Pérez and Adrián Gil completed the podium. In the women's category, the winner was Sara Rivas, who completed the race in a time of 23:34. She was followed by Lucía Rodríguez and Sandra Sánchez.
In the 10 km category, the winner was Elizabet Perdomo with a time of 52:38, followed by Ildiko Biro and Sonja Rieder. In the men's category, Fernando Toribio won with a time of 42:31. Miguel Ángel Duque and Suso Albar were second and third respectively. Later it was the turn of the little ones who were also able to enjoy the race in a great atmosphere.
