Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote rediscovered victory in the penultimate matchday of the Men's First National League, after defeating Balonmano Saeplast Cañiza by 36 to 28. The final difference of eight goals may suggest that it was an easier match than expected, but in reality the Galicians made the defeat very expensive and it was not until the second half when San José Obrero was able to steer the match to add the two points that were at stake.

The first minutes of the match were marked by inaccuracies in both teams, especially in the local team, which incomprehensibly lost balls in their attacking actions. The first few minutes in which Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote was ahead on the scoreboard, until Cristian Canosa culminated a counterattack to establish the tie (3-3).

Iñaki Malumbres did not like the way the match was developing, so he did not hesitate to call a time-out in the middle of the period. After the instructions from the bench, the locals' game began to improve, and two good ball circulations allowed Adrián Ruiz and Pedro Cabrera to score easily, establishing 12-10. The score was 15-12 at the end of the first half.

Balonmano Saeplast Cañiza was not willing to give up during the second half, and the period began with a 1-4 partial in favor of the Galicians (16-16), having to request again Iñaki Malumbres a time-out. The visitors lost in these first minutes of the second part to their defender Iñigo Silva, a player who was disqualified with three exclusions.

The game of Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote was growing as the minutes passed and little by little the Lanzarote team took control of the match. Rubén Caraballo penetrating through the center of the defense increased the difference to four goals (22-18), being the match in the middle of the second half.

The push of Balonmano Saeplast Cañiza was diluted as the minutes passed, a circumstance that was used by the locals to print a lot of speed to their attacking actions and overcome again and again the goal of the opponent. With the score of 36 to 28 the end of the match arrived, adding two new points the Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote

The victory of OAR Coruña on the court of Bueu Atlético Balonmano leaves Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote without options to fight for playing the promotion phase. Next week they face the last trip of the season, visiting the court of a Seis do Nadal that struggles to get out of the low positions of the standings.
