CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen won this Saturday at the Tías Municipal Pavilion against Comercial Ulsa Hand Vall (37-31) in a match corresponding to the twelfth day of the season in group A of the Women's Silver Division.

Local player Vesi Nenkova, recently operated on for a head tumor in Tenerife, was the object of an emotional tribute from players from the club's youth academy who came out before the match with a banner dedicated to the Bulgarian player who, convalescing from the operation, surely saw the victory that her teammates dedicated to her from Tenerife.

A victory with many goals in a match proposed by the Pucelan team to go head to head. A brave bet by the Valladolid coach but one that could not withstand the onslaughts in the form of counterattacks from the Tiñoso team who, as soon as they minimally adjusted the defense, through passes from the local goalkeeper that seemed like guided missiles, opened up options for lightning-fast and sudden attacks that almost always ended in a one-on-one between local players and the Pucelan goalkeeper who had quite a bit of work in the match.

During the first ten minutes of the match, both teams remained firm and with a certain equality on the scoreboard. From that moment on, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen went direct and began to amass increasingly large goal differences until, after the break, a push from the Pucelanas brought them closer on the scoreboard (21-18, min. 35). It was just an illusion, an oasis in the middle of the desert, as the Tiñoseras started running again and put the finishing touch to a more than desired victory dedicated to their teammate Vesi Nenkova.

After chaining nine positive results between the League and the Queen's Cup, Miguel Ángel Lemes' team remains in second position in the standings with twenty-one points, two points behind third place, Rodríguez Cleba, and three behind their next rival, Oviedo Balonmano. CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen only has Balonmano San José Obrero Lanzarote ahead of them, the undefeated leader of the group with twenty-four points at the moment.

Mary Sánchez and Rosa Álvarez were the most successful in attack this Saturday with eleven and ten goals respectively. In the scoring facet of Comercial Ulsa Hand Vall, Mónica Gutiérrez stood out with six goals. After this match, Mary Sánchez is now third among the top scorers in group A of the Women's Silver Division, with 84 goals in twelve matches (7 on average), while Keyla Hernández drops to ninth position in that group of machine guns, with 65 goals scored so far (5.42 goals on average per match). The improvement in this classification of goalscorers of Rosa Álvarez stands out, who after a somewhat hesitant start to the league in the scoring facet is already the tenth highest goalscorer with 62 goals (5.17 goals per match) and about to reach her teammate Keyla Hernández.

Next weekend CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen visits the forty by twenty of the Municipal Florida Arena in Oviedo to face Oviedo Balonmano Femenino, it will be on Sunday, December 15, at 11:00 am.
