They failed to add, but the Lanzarote team competed well throughout the match. CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote traveled to Valladolid knowing the difficulty of the match against Caja Rural Aula Valladolid, but with the desire to score, which would be their second away match in this start of the competition.

It seemed that the team led by Juan Rivera had corrected the mistakes of the previous day. The match began and the first attacks served to probe the opponent. This time, the 'batateras' were not in such a hurry to attack as in the previous match against Salud Tenerife and chose to mature the ball more until the play came out.

Valladolid was clear that they were going to play a very physical match, with a lot of ball speed, not only with counterattacks and in circulation, but also with quick serves from midfield with goals against. So much so that on more than five occasions the referees were forced to interrupt the match so that the team led by Miguel Ángel Peñas could make the serve correctly.

The Lanzarote team also used physicality. The first 10 minutes of the match were up and Aula Valladolid had a positive lead of two goals. Again, CB Zonzamas had to row against the current and try to reduce a distance that was increasing with unforced errors and little success in front of goal.

At the halfway point of the first half, the team defended well at the back and found gaps between the Valladolid ranks, but the latter found the goals more easily, so Juan Rivera was forced to ask for the first timeout of the match when the scoreboard marked 10-6.

The match became an exchange of goals on both sides, which allowed CB Valladolid to maintain its advantage. Rivera drew on the whiteboard and the first changes began to give a new air to the match, which also served to keep all the players connected to the match.

The dynamic seemed to change and the Lanzarote team was going to finish the first half with more effectiveness in front of goal, but each goal in favor was countered with quick attacks or counterattacks that at times meant that the peninsulars managed to get away with a difference of up to seven goals.

CB Zonzamas did not get nervous. Good connections from the first line with the pivot, added to the individual plays of the wingers, caused the 'batateras' to overcome the tough defensive line of CB Valladolid, but both teams would go to the break with a 20-14 on the scoreboard, reflecting the difference in effectiveness. Both teams managed to reach the opponent's goal, but the locals had more scoring ability.

The first stages of the second half arrived, which would go the same way as the match began, but with a CB Zonzamas that again seems to favor the exclusions of its players, achieving partials in favor with numerical inferiority. The 'batateras' cut the difference and the tension began to gain integers in the environment, seeing how the Lanzarote coach would be cautioned after the first five minutes of this second half.

The technical talk at halftime paid off. The 'batateras' stood up and this time joined the opponent's strategy, also opting for quick serves and counterattacks, giving much more speed and depth to the ball.

In the goal, Ana Martín began to charge dearly for the opponent's goals. Her effectiveness under the sticks, with defensive solvency and with clearer shots on goal from the attacking players, meant that the difference in goals against was reduced to three. With 23-20 on the scoreboard, CB Valladolid had to ask for a time-out, but it would not serve to cut the streak of Ariadna Molina, a Zonzamas player who had entered even more plugged in if possible and risked her life on more than one occasion. The fans who had come to the Pabellón Huerta del Rey saw how she unfortunately had to leave the court towards the bench upset after a strong clash after a beautiful goal, in one of those plays of sacrifice and struggle that fans of any team like so much.

Finally, the dynamic of the match would change again in favor of the Valladolid team. At times, CB Zonzamas seemed to be burning the ball and returned to those precipitations and unforced errors, something that the locals took advantage of very well.

Both teams read the match well. It was becoming a match with many goals and that had to be won in defensive work, but the 'batateras' were somewhat slower in defense, which cost them to play a lot of time in numerical inferiority. This allowed Valladolid to extend its advantage again, putting land in between, exceeding thirty goals and achieving, with five minutes to go until the end of the match, a result of 35-29.

Despite this and as they have us used to, the Lanzarote team would not give their arm to twist and would sell the defeat very expensive. Despite the goal difference and the little time that marked the clock, they continued fighting for each ball until reaching the final result of 37-32. Juan Rivera's girls will have time to analyze this new defeat. With the next match postponed and the following day of rest, they will have to think about the match against another difficult rival such as Elche and hope to have some more luck to accompany the hard work that all the players are doing but that has not yet materialized with points in the standings.
