The Tías City Council has started the refurbishment of the sports courts located in the area of the 50 homes in Puerto del Carmen, with an investment of more than 40,000 euros. The actions include the renovation of a soccer field and two basketball courts, enhancing a public space that had been underused.
With this intervention, the City Council seeks to promote the use of safe and accessible sports facilities for the enjoyment of the residents of the municipality.
The Councilor for Sports, Ismael Cruz, has highlighted the City Council's commitment to the comprehensive renovation of sports facilities: “By the end of 2025, all municipal public courts will be completely renovated, equipped with adequate lighting and in optimal safety conditions for the use of our citizens.”

In addition, the government group is already working on a broader pilot project for the area, which includes the creation of new parking spaces and the provision of shaded areas, following the model recently implemented in Mácher.
For his part, the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, has underlined the municipality's commitment to public infrastructures: “Tías is and will continue to be the municipality on the island that invests the most in improving public spaces, promoting the well-being and enjoyment of all our neighbors.”
