The already traditional race against gender violence has brought together this Saturday more than 700 participants in the Ramírez Cerdá park, in Arrecife. A large number of young people and families gathered before the start, at 12:30, showing various banners against gender violence, which have been prepared by different educational centers in Lanzarote.
In addition to the banner display, within the events planned in the VII race against gender violence, a cycle of short films against gender violence is planned, a special lighting of the Cabildo lights on the night of the 24th to the 25th and the call for the Forum Against Gender Violence.
The Minister of Social Welfare and Second Vice President of the Cabildo, Marcos Bergaz, declared: "Today we have remembered the more than 50 women who have been snatched from us so far this year by criminal gender violence."
Bergaz encouraged the population to "participate in the commemorative events of November 25, because gender violence is won from unity, education and the commitment of everyone".
At the end of the competition, a small badge was given to the first three classified in the female and male, senior and junior categories.
"Regardless of classifications, the winner is the NO to violence against women", stressed the second vice president.
