The PSOE of Lanzarote has shown its satisfaction with Pedro Sánchez's decision that the Lanzarote airport will now be called César Manrique Airport, as requested by the Cabildo of Lanzarote at the proposal of the Socialist Party in said institution.
The island secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has lamented "the pettiness with which the government of the Popular Party received the proposal to identify Guacimenta airport with the name of Manrique and has positively valued the open and willing attitude of the new executive presided over by Pedro Sánchez."
"What was impossible with the Popular Party has been made possible by a PSOE government," Corujo pointed out, showing her enormous satisfaction that César's centenary can be celebrated with the change of name of the airport already completed.
"Lanzarote cannot be understood without César and his work. But, in addition, to understand Lanzarote it is essential to resort to César's thinking and, above all, to his active militancy in defense of a possible and sustainable Lanzarote over time. Lanzarote's debt to César is unpayable and gestures like this of putting his name to our airport contribute to honoring that debt and his memory", Corujo concluded.
