The Popular Party has criticized that the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, María Dolores Corujo, "will leave these islands without representation in the General Commission of Island Councils" held this Monday in the Parliament of the Canary Islands.
The populars denounce that Corujo did not send a counselor to represent the institution either, in a session in which three issues that the Lanzarote PP considers "of special relevance" were addressed, such as "two royal decrees of the Government that affect the island of La Palma with the adoption of special measures due to the effects of the eruption, as well as the draft law on Youth Policies in the Canary Islands."
From the ranks of the Popular Party they consider that "there is no justification for our Cabildo not to have been represented", since, in fact, "it has been the only island corporation that did not attend the meeting".
"A fact that leaves the island government of PSOE and Podemos in a very bad place, who, with the no-show, have made evident how little they seem to care about the issues addressed, because otherwise they would have been present today with the rest of the presidents or their representative councilors", they argue from the PP.
