Three days after the start of the strike in the Tourist Centers, the Popular Party has sent a statement in which it gives its "support" to the workers" and blames the government group of the Cabildo for this labor conflict. In addition, the populars announce that they will request "in an extraordinary and urgent manner" the convocation of a Board of Directors of the EPEL of the Tourist Centers, "to analyze the current situation of the strike of the workers of the public entity of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, due to a labor breach by the management of the EPEL".

For the Popular Party, "it is in this public entity, chaired by Pedro San Ginés, current president of the Cabildo, where the differences that are causing the current strike of the workers of the main and largest public entity of the Island of Lanzarote must be resolved". The spokesperson for the PP and member of the EPEL, Angel Vázquez, recalls that "the workers of the Tourist Centers have a sentence that reflects a labor breach by the political leadership of the EPEL, in the hands of CC with the support of the PSOE".

For the PP, "the request known in those days launched by the PSOE to convene an extraordinary Plenary Session of the Cabildo does not make sense when the workers of the EPEL have neither voice nor vote in this plenary session, while they can do so in the development of the Board of Directors of the EPEL, where, in addition to all the political forces of the Corporation of the Cabildo, the workers are present with their  Works Council and the tourist business organizations of Lanzarote".

In its statement, the PP concludes that "this situation has a single culprit: the current Government group of the Cabildo that does not comply, like the lawsuit of the Cueva de los Verdes, with the judicial sentences." In addition, it demands that CC and PSOE "do not play in the media" and face the demands of the workers.
