The Popular Party criticizes the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, for "only cleaning the accesses to the Saramago House before the arrival of Pedro Sánchez." The popular representatives insist that they have been "for some time" denouncing the "dirt" and "abandonment" of the municipality's public spaces.
The leader of the PP and candidate for mayor, Kiko Aparicio, hopes that Cruz Saavedra "will blush" at the presence of municipal teams cleaning hours before the arrival of Pedro Sánchez, general secretary of the PSOE and president of the Government.
The opposition party criticizes the presence of municipal workers "only" in the surroundings of what was the residence of the Nobel Prize winner for Literature, "leaving dirty and abandoned all other accesses to the urban center of Tías." At the same time, it emphasizes that Tías "has regressed in the conservation of its public spaces and street cleaning."
Likewise, the Popular Party is surprised that, "with the continuous attacks by Pedro Sánchez on those who pay their taxes outside of Spain, he is going to make an official visit to the headquarters of a writer who in life paid taxes in Portugal, despite working, residing and collecting while residing in Lanzarote, Spanish territory."
In a statement issued by the Popular Party of Tías, they insist that a ruling by the Supreme Court states that the Tax Agency could not charge José Saramago, despite the tax warning, due to the statute of limitations on the claim made by the Treasury of the Government of Spain.
