The three workers who collect garbage in the municipality of Tinajo have stopped working since Monday due to the non-payment of their last salary by the company Camilo Álvarez, which has been granted the garbage collection service.
According to the UGT union, salary problems have been repeated throughout the year. The union assures that a clause in the collective agreement allows workers to stop providing the service if they have not been paid on the 5th and that this time they have made it effective because "they no longer trust the company's excuses".
For his part, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, points out that so far the neighbors have not complained about the lack of service and that he hopes the problem will be resolved between today and tomorrow. "If it is not resolved soon, we will have to take some action," he says.
