On Thursday afternoon, the presidents of Coalición Canaria in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote held a meeting on that last island together with other leaders of the nationalist formation in the eastern islands to launch a joint proposal regarding the election of the candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands of CC that will be decided on February 3.

In this sense, the top leader of the formation in Fuerteventura, Víctor Alonso, stressed that it is time to "bet on a candidate from a non-capital island and eliminate the alternation once and for all".

In this sense, both Mario Pérez and Víctor Alonso reported this afternoon that "both Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are in a position to present a candidacy to the Government of the Canary Islands".

Alonso added that "it is time to bet on a unitary and balanced project that allows each and every one of the islands to opt for that alternation to which until now only Tenerife and Gran Canaria opted".

For his part, the president of CC in Lanzarote, Mario Pérez, stressed that "we are in a position to present a candidate for the Presidency of the Autonomous Executive that guarantees the unity of the Canary Islands, a balanced project and the success of Coalición Canaria in the next elections".

Pérez did not reveal any names but stressed that "in the 2 islands there are candidates prepared to face this new challenge that would be the clearest example and recognition of the social, economic and political weight of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura".

Víctor Alonso pointed out, in addition, that this "is the best opportunity for the non-capital islands to be taken seriously once and for all, since all political formations without exception have always opted for an alternation, thus excluding the values we have in the rest of the islands and that, I am sure, are sufficiently prepared to face the presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands".

The commitment of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote occurs just over a week before the National Political Council of Coalición Canaria, scheduled for February 3, decides the candidate for the presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands of the nationalist formation for the electoral elections that will be held on May 27.
