The union representatives have lowered their demands, but it has not been enough to bring positions closer. If the strike starts this Tuesday with a massive following, the management has planned measures such as allowing free access to the Centers.

The management of the EPEL and the Works Council met this Monday to seek last-minute ways to avoid the indefinite strike that begins this Tuesday at the Tourist Centers. However, the meeting "went badly", in the words of the CACT's councilor, Pedro San Ginés, which means that the strike is maintained, pending the meeting of the Board of Directors, in which it is difficult for positions to change.

The meeting served for the Works Council to lower its demands to the point of withdrawing one of the most disputed requests, the availability bonus, which allows reducing the cost of the salary increase to 60,000 euros. A "reasonable" figure according to the unions. On the other hand, for the company it has not been enough since in exchange it asks for the inclusion of the annual calculation, an "unacceptable" demand for the union representatives. "We have asked again if the company's veto on making contributions is lifted, in order to accommodate a salary increase that is immoral and illegal", argues Pedro San Ginés.

The management of the EPEL has also requested the mediation of the Canarian Labor Court in order for its resolution to be binding, but this request has been rejected by the union representatives, although Héctor Noda affirms that they are "still studying it". "On other occasions they have said that they did not recognize that body and now they appeal to it, to try to mediate with us", explains Héctor Noda about a measure that does not convince them.

At the request of the opposition, the Board of Directors of the Tourist Centers is scheduled to meet this Monday afternoon in order to analyze the state of the negotiations and adopt the agreements that may be appropriate. Pedro San Ginés does not trust that this session will change the position of the unions since they only have one representative. For his part, Héctor Noda anticipates that they will propose their requests again to avoid reaching the strike and that they have given Juan Manuel de la Nuez, from UGT, the "pertinent indications" to "try to avoid this extreme" because they consider themselves "responsible".

In the event that the strike this Tuesday has a majority following, the management of the Entity has planned a series of measures aimed at minimizing its effects. They have already announced that they will allow free access to the Centers. They have also requested a decree of minimum services and have agreed to provide an explanatory leaflet to distribute among visitors.
