The Cabildo of Lanzarote continues its collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) so that the island remains the setting for the PANGAEA project. The Councilor for the Environment and Geopark Lanzarote, Samuel Martín, has received the astronauts and representatives of the ESA who have visited the island for another year, with the aim of "continuing to take advantage" of the native natural conditions for the development of future lunar studies and explorations from the point of view of science and geology.
"Lanzarote encompasses the strategic, geological and landscape conditions ideal for carrying out their training, since, according to them, it is the most realistic form of preparation for space travel," the councilor remarked. Similarly, Samuel Martín has expressed "his thanks" for having chosen the island once again and has revealed the intention of the ESA to "continue extending the collaboration with the Cabildo" of Lanzarote for the development of the PANGAEA project.
Likewise, from the Agency, they have thanked the councilor, the Cabildo and the local authorities for their "welcome and hospitality" shown "in your beautiful extraterrestrial landscape."
