The Arrecife City Council has reported that since the current Government Group took office in the last municipal elections in May, 1,000 abandoned vehicles have been removed from the streets of the capital.

In this sense, both the Councilor for Cleaning and Neighborhoods, Antonio Machín, and the first Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Local Police, Antonio Hernández, point out that the Consistory is fulfilling the commitment acquired to eradicate both the bad image and the sources of infection that are generated as a result of the abandonment of these vehicles.

"The good image and the guarantee of good living conditions for the municipality is the task of public representatives, but citizens must provide their collaboration", says the Councilor for Cleaning and Neighborhoods, Antonio Machín, who also highlights that his Council has established different cleaning devices in neighborhoods such as Argana Baja, Titerrroy, Los Alonso, Maneje and Tinasoria. He also assures that they are currently finishing the campaign in Argana Alta and will continue in Valterra and El Lomo until the entire municipality is cleaned up.

On the other hand, the Consistory has also reported that 325,000 kilos of waste have been collected during the campaign arranged after the past Christmas holidays, "a considerably larger amount than the 270,000 kilos collected during the previous year's campaign", says Machín.
