The Agency for the Protection of the Urban and Natural Environment has initiated a procedure against a house located in the area of "La Cueva" in San Bartolomé, built on rustic land, within the protected natural area of La Geria, without authorization.
In the notification, which was published this Monday in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, the Apmun urges to "reestablish the disturbed legal order", first trying to legalize the work and, if not, demolishing the building.
In addition to a house of about 82 square meters, extended by 20 more, the work includes a garage of 24 square meters, a cistern, a corral and the corresponding wall. And all this, according to the Apmun, was built without authorization, on land protected for its landscape value, which constitutes an infraction of the Territorial Planning.
Now, the Agency gives the affected parties a period of 15 days to present allegations or documents in their defense. In addition, it orders them to "request the legalization of the works within three months, extendable once for another three months, depending on the complexity of the project." If they do not do so, or if the request is rejected because the construction is illegal, "the demolition of the works will be ordered, and the restoration to its original state of the physical reality altered by them."
