Somos Lanzarote, through its Spokesperson in Arrecife, Borja Rubio, has reported that they will propose in the next municipal Plenary a commission on the situation of the concessionaire company of the Islas Canarias parking, as well as that the City Council exercises in accordance with the law, the powers that the clauses of the concession include regarding the management of rates.
"We claim, as it cannot be otherwise, the right of the people of Arrecife to know what is happening with the judicial disputes that the Arrecife City Council maintains with the majority partners of the company in which it has an 11% stake. We have evidence that the repeated breaches have led the concession to the judicial route, we want to know the state in which it is, and if the City Council continues to carry out the inspection, control and sanction tasks that are inherent to it as responsible for public land, and concessionaire entity" says Borja Rubio.
They ask that the tariff regulation of the Parking be studied
Somos Lanzarote proposes in turn to the Plenary that the Arrecife City Council comply with the prerogatives of review, and tariff regulation of the Parking, in order to ensure the achievement of the general interest. The island formation understands that if the agreement is executed, it could alleviate the important parking problems of the city of Arrecife and its center.
"The parking problems in Arrecife are one of the issues that most seriously affect the downtown area. Therefore, we believe that the municipal government group should explore as soon as possible the situation of the Islas Canarias Parking, exercising the powers that allow the concession to revert to the city, and that it serves the general interest. In that sense, we propose that the clauses of the concession that grant the consistory the possibility of reviewing the tariff situation of the site be executed," concludes Borja Rubio.
