The show 'SinfónicAs' triumphs in San Bartolomé with its tribute to the female icons of music

The Theater of San Bartolomé hosted the Symphony Orchestra of Las Palmas with its latest musical project entitled "SinfónicAs", a tribute to the female icons of music of this last century.

After selling out tickets four days before the show, more than 300 people attended the town's theater last Saturday, May 14 to enjoy this new musical and scenic production of the Orchestra, promoted by the City Council of San Bartolomé and the Department of Culture.

The Symphony Orchestra of Las Palmas, composed on this occasion by 30 musicians, was directed by the multifaceted Canarian musician Luís Montesdeoca, violinist of this same orchestra and of the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote. In addition, he also works as a musical producer of important artistic projects in the Canary Islands, such as Timple & Bohemia, Boleros Sinfónicos or one of the latest successes of the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra itself entitled México Sinfónico.

In addition, it was accompanied by four female voices from the Canarian music scene: Almudena Hernández, Moneiba Hidalgo, Marieme Abdoulaye and Dunia Santana. Musicians and soloists offered the public a wide variety of musical styles, from the soul of Aretha Franklin or Nina Simone, to the salsa of the inexhaustible Celia Cruz.

The mayor of the City Council of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, wanted to thank all the artists and musicians who took the stage for "providing the public of the municipality with a musical show of enormous caliber", as well as the audience, who "packed the Municipal Theater".

After its success in Lanzarote, the Symphony Orchestra of Las Palmas plans to travel to different stages in the Canary Islands to bring classical music closer to all audiences and, in addition, to showcase the talent of young island singers who have made a place for themselves in the archipelago's music scene.
