"The best team to defend the interests of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands." This is the idea that Paulino Rivero, candidate of the Canarian Coalition for the presidency of the Autonomous Government, conveyed this Thursday on the Island of Volcanoes. Thus, he tried to encourage voters to bet on the nationalist project.
For Paulino Rivero, his party is the only one that has proposals to address the issues of the Archipelago. Thus, the aspirant to preside over the Autonomous Executive pointed out that "nobody" has raised issues as important as "all the islands are equal, the triple parity, aid to transport, ending double insularity or defending the productive system of the Canary Islands".
Immigration, one of the star topics of this end of the campaign, is also a prominent issue for nationalists. For this reason, Paulino Rivero defended the quotas of workers in exchange for controls at the origin. "Why not a real humanitarian policy instead of the demagogy of the Socialist Party?" asked the nationalist leader.
Paulino Rivero assured that his adversaries such as the PSOE or the PP have only been able to bring to the Canary Islands "the fight that they bring in Madrid since March 11." In this line, the candidate for the Government of the Canary Islands pointed out that in the Archipelago Rajoy or Zapatero are not quoted "but our mayors, presidents of the Cabildos and parliamentarians to direct our institutions".
With his determined support for the candidates and with the commitment to support them if he is elected president, Paulino Rivero pointed out that the vote for small formations "is to squander it". Therefore, despite understanding the disenchantment that the Island may have about politics, Rivero asked voters to think about the present and future of the Canary Islands and the stability of the Lanzarote institutions in the last two years.
