Only four of the seven municipalities of Lanzarote, specifically, San Bartolomé, Teguise, Arrecife and Haría, have passed the evaluation of the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands (ITCanarias) in the 2018 financial year, carried out by the Transparency Commissioner
The first three have obtained more than 7 points out of 10 in the ITCanarias 2018, a notable advance for the municipal group of the island according to the Transparency Commissioner, since in 2017 only Teguise and Arrecife exceeded 5; and in 2016 Arrecife was the only local institution that passed.
In the first place of the ranking is the City Council of San Bartolomé with a score of 7.82, while Teguise is in second place with 7.52. They are followed by the town councils of Arrecife and Haría with 7.09 and 5.04.
Tinajo, Yaiza and Tías fail again and with a worse score
On the other hand, the municipalities of Tinajo, Yaiza and Tías have failed again and have also done so with a worse score than they obtained in 2017.
In the case of Tinajo, in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands of 2017 it obtained a score of 4.27 while in that of 2018 it has only achieved 3.76. For its part, the City Council of Yaiza has lowered its score from 4.95 to 3.41 and Tías from 3.22 to 2.55.
