Only two days after [suspending the strike that was going to start this Monday->44348] in the municipal bus service of Arrecife, Comisiones Obreras has called a new strike, although this time for different reasons. And if the strike initially planned arose from disagreements, among other things, with the payment of overtime, this time it is called "against the privatization of municipal bus services."
Thus, although an agreement was reached last Friday between the City Council and the strike committee, the conflict is flaring up again. And it is that on the same day that it was decided to suspend the strike, the government group announced a plenary session for this Monday, in which the specifications for tendering the indirect management of the buses have been approved.
After learning of this news, Comisiones Obreras again summoned the drivers and announced that the union itself was going to sign this call, which was unanimously supported by the workers, according to sources from CCOO. After submitting it by fax this Sunday, this Monday they have formally presented it, while this same issue was being debated in the plenary hall of the City Council.
The strike, which is called from 7 in the morning on October 6, will be indefinite, and "all workers who provide their services in urban buses" are called to it.
