Nueva Canarias has announced that it will request the Arrecife plenary session to issue "a formal condemnation against the corruption that has plagued the City Council". The candidate for Mayor, Armando Santana, states that the formation has attended "absolutely saddened" to what has happened in recent dates in the different pieces of the Unión case as well as Montecarlo, where "it has been narrated how technicians, politicians colluded with businessmen were looting our city with impunity".
"When we see the state of our City Council, we realize that we must not fail to remember that the main technical positions belonged to a corrupt network organized for their own benefit, supported by unscrupulous politicians whose sole purpose was personal enrichment", Santana pointed out.
For this reason, Nueva Canarias wants "the citizens of Arrecife not to forget what happened, bearing in mind the irreparable damage of the scourge of corruption" and that the City Council "never again be prey to unscrupulous scoundrels".
Thus, the formation will request that "the political parties represented in the Arrecife City Council, as well as those of new concurrence, issue a vote of condemnation against these mafia practices that impoverish the city" and that there be "a commitment on the part of all that the blind eye will never be turned again" nor will it be allowed "that this happens again in our city".
For this reason, Nueva Canarias has asked that, in the next plenary session, a motion be put to a vote demanding "a public condemnation of all the technicians and politicians who deliberately looted the Arrecife City Council", as well as "the commitment of the parties to be especially demanding on issues of corruption in the city of Arrecife".
