A total of eight political groups are vying for seats on the Cabildo of Lanzarote. The Official Bulletin of the Province of Las Palmas (BOPL) published this Wednesday the candidacies for the highest island body.
These eight political formations are: Lanzarote En Pie, Nueva Canarias-Frente Amplio Canarista, Coalición Canaria, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), the Popular Party (PP), Vox, Drago Verdes Canarias, and Unidas Sí Podemos.
As head of the list, Lanzarote en Pie presents Ruimán Duarte Tavío; Nueva Canarias presents the current mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda; Coalición Canaria presents the current mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort; the PSOE presents the current president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo; the Popular Party presents Jacobo Medina; Vox presents Óscar Domingo Pérez; Drago Verdes Canarias presents Ester Gómez Brodsky; and Unidas Sí Podemos presents Marcial Nicolás Saavedra.
Candidacies by City Councils
Arrecife: In total, nine political formations are presenting their candidacy to the Arrecife City Council. The capital of Lanzarote has received the registration of Nueva Canarias-FCA, headed by Armando Santana; Coalición Canaria, with Echedey Eugenio at the front; Lanzarote En Pie with Leticia Padilla; Vox with Eugenio Hernández Cabrera; the PSOE with José Alfredo Mendoza; the Popular Party, with the current mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez; Unidas Sí Podemos with María Antonia Perera; Dragos Verdes Canarias with Gustavo David Santana; and the Canarian Nationalist Party, headed by Carmen Delia Delgado.
Haría: The municipality of Haría has eight political parties that have registered with the Electoral Board for the elections on May 28. Among them: Coalición Canaria, whose candidacy is headed by Víctor Manuel Robayna; Vox, which has Virginia Herrera at the front; the PSOE, with Alfredo Villalba; the PP, with Carlos David Álvarez; La Plataforma del Municipio de Haría, led by the current mayor of Haría, Evelia García; Nueva Canarias-Frente Amplio Canarista by Marcos Rubén Cedrés; Unidas Sí Podemos, with María Victoria Villaseñor; and Compromiso por Haría with Chaxiraxi Niz.
San Bartolomé: In San Bartolomé, a total of seven political groups are registered. These formations are: Coalición Canaria, in a list led by David Rocío; Lanzarote En Pie, headed by Jorge Díaz; Vox with Óscar Domingo Pérez; the PSOE, which is betting on the current mayor, Isidro Pérez; the PP with Jeziel Martín; Nueva Canarias-FAC, by Pablo Yebra; as well as Unidas Sí Podemos, with Yurena Corujo.
Teguise: A total of ten political formations are presenting their candidacy to Teguise, the most contested municipality in the upcoming elections. The parties are: Contigo Somos Democracia, started by Laureano Álvarez; Coalición Canaria with Olivia Duque; Lanzarote En Pie, headed by Encarnación Brito; Vox, with Ginés González; the PSOE, with Marcos Antonio Bergaz; the PP, with Rita Emma Hernández Callero; Nueva Canarias-FAC, betting on Fernando María Jiménez; Unidas Sí Podemos by María Zayda González; Drago Verdes Canarias, with Elsa Betancort; and Primero Teguise, with Jonás Álvarez Morales.
Tías: The municipality of Tías has seven political formations registered for the elections on May 28. The Electoral Board has reported the following formations: San Borondón, with Jerónimo Robayna; Vox, headed by Nelson Daniel Pérez; the PSOE, with the current mayor, José Juan Cruz; the PP, with Francisco Javier Aparicio; Nueva Canarias-FAC to Arminda Barreto; Unidas Sí Podemos, headed by Marcial Nicolás Saavedra; and Coalición Canaria, with Amado Jesús Vizcaíno.
Tinajo: A total of five political parties are running for the Tinajo City Council. They are the following: Coalición Canaria, led by the current mayor, Jesús Casimiro Machín; Vox, with Ernesto Alejandro García; the PSOE, headed by Begoña del Pino Hernández; the PP, with Ramón Ortiz González; the Movimiento Renovador de Tinajo-Nueva Canarias-FAC, with Antonio Jesús Morales.
Yaiza: For the Yaiza City Council, eight political groups were registered. The parties are: Coalición Canaria, led by Emilio José Machín; Lanzarote En Pie, with Ramiro Muñoz; Vox, with Silvia del Prado; the PSOE, with María del Carmen Guadalupe; the PP, with Juan Francisco Monzón Rosales; Unidas Sí Podemos, with Dionisio Fernández; Yaiza Siempre, with Jonatan Lemes; and Unidos por Yaiza, with the current mayor of the municipality, Óscar Noda.
