As announced by the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, this Friday the joint inspection plan between Public Health and the Local Police has been launched in order to verify strict compliance with the control measures dictated by the Government of the Canary Islands as a result of the transition to Level 3 in Lanzarote.
The president has recalled that this inspection plan has arisen as a result of the coordination meetings held with municipal and health officials, headed by the director of the Health Area.
Thus, throughout the afternoon of this Friday, the first operation was carried out in which a large shopping center and several establishments located in its surroundings were inspected, coinciding the team's visit with the hours of greatest affluence in this type of facilities.
The inspectors, accompanied by the Local Police, were able to verify that the shopping center was complying at that time with the capacity limitations, raising a report in some nearby establishments in which the maximum capacity foreseen for level 3 had been exceeded and risky behaviors were observed.
The president has positively valued this first action in which, with the coordination of the Cabildo, joint action has been taken between the Public Health inspectors and the Local Police.
"We are not going to lower our guard. At this time it is essential to contain the spread of the virus and we are going to be very demanding in compliance with the regulations. We will not allow the inappropriate behavior of a few to put the health of the population at risk."
