"The socialists of Teguise are running in the next elections with the endorsement of a job well done, carried out with dedication and rigor. Both in the Government and in the opposition".

With these words, the socialist candidate for mayor of Teguise, Isabel Martín Tenorio, began her speech last Wednesday night, who was officially presented to her electorate, accompanied by her list.

The candidate, who is a PSOE councilor in the Teguise City Council in the current term, assured that the two years of socialist management "led to the opening of the doors of the town hall to all residents, after years of darkness and opacity."

"You know: With the PSOE government, municipal management gained in efficiency and transparency. And always listening carefully to citizen proposals. Because participation is one of the cornerstones of our way of understanding public work," she said to the nearly 200 people who attended the event.

In the chapter of proposals, Isabel Martín highlighted the design of a General Urban Planning Plan, "designed for people and not for the particular interests of some" and the development of social services "that have nothing to do with charity or the provision of a political favor, but with the right of residents to receive aid in certain circumstances."

According to her, another of the priorities of the socialist program is the construction of at least two nurseries, one in Costa Teguise and another for the area of Mozaga, Tao, Tiagua and Muñique, "that facilitate the necessary work-family balance and the access of women to the labor market."

The candidate to preside over the Cabildo for the PSOE, Manuela Armas, the head of the list to the regional Parliament, Manuel Fajardo, the general secretary of the Socialists of Lanzarote, Carlos Espino, and the spokesperson for the municipal group, Noelia Umpiérrez, participated in the presentation of the candidacy for Teguise.
