The Cabildo of Lanzarote, in its commitment to the modernization of the intercity public transport service, has just awarded the installation of an information system for travelers through information panels at the bus stops and the launch of a mobile application.

The objective is to improve the information that reaches users and, at the same time, promote the use of public transport, in order to achieve sustainable development that contributes to the improvement of our environment and the rational and efficient use of road infrastructure.

The Mobility Councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, José Francisco Hernández, points out that "with this new and modern information system, users of intercity buses will be able to have, in real time, the schedule of the lines passing through the different stops, as well as other data of interest regarding the service." "With this we modernize the regular intercity transport of the island, as well as a much more efficient and sustainable mobility," adds Hernández.

The councilor details that the awarded company, Capmar Sistemas de Información S.L, will be in charge of executing the installation of 43 information panels at the bus stops and the development of a mobile application, with an award budget amounting to 589,000 euros (including taxes).

This project is part of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), co-financed through the FEDER Operational Program for Sustainable Growth 2014-2020, (OT2.C) "Smart Mobility System" and with own funds from the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
