The Tías City Council has awarded the contract for the resurfacing of several streets in Puerto del Carmen, in the Los Mojones area, Risco de La Tiñosa, around Avenida de las Playas and Calle Guataca, for an amount of 510,775 euros.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Ulpiano Calero, emphasize "the urgent need" to resurface the streets of Puerto del Carmen, "which have a very old and deteriorated asphalt surface, as well as quite old signage."
According to the project report, the asphalt pavement shows "cracking, disintegration, deformation and potholes, with significant surface deterioration." Regarding the horizontal and vertical signage, it is "outdated and rusty and has lost all its characteristics."
The works therefore consist of the regeneration of the asphalt surface and the placement and execution of the definitive signage, both vertical and horizontal. The regeneration of the surface is projected to include the contribution of an asphalt wearing course of 5 centimeters thick, with an increase of 15%, due to unforeseen events due to the degradation of the existing surface.
In the streets Agachadilla and Cucharona there is a small section in each of them that is on land and without curbs, projecting and budgeting the placement of the curb, the boxing, the extension of a layer of sub-base and finally the layer of asphalt surface. In Agachadilla street, prior to the placement of the curb, a dry stone wall that is in danger of collapse will be removed.
The planned works will be carried out in different areas of Puerto del Carmen, acting on the streets Punta del Barquillo, El Toscón, Piedra Negra, Rompimiento, La Laja, Traspies, Pardelera, Garabato, Agachadilla, Cadera, Cucharona, Los Volcanes, Los Mojones, Mareta, Los Viejos Tendereteros, Huaracheros, Mestisay, Guataca, Tanausú, Princesa Guayarmina, Timple and Guanapay.
