Around five o'clock on Tuesday morning, a boat arrived at Los Ancones beach with irregular immigrants, of whom five have been arrested, including a minor. In addition to this boat, two more have arrived throughout the morning of Tuesday, one at San Juan beach, in Famara, with three minors arrested and another at Caleta de Mero.
Another boat arrived in the Las Caletas area at around one o'clock in the afternoon with 21 immigrants on board, including a woman and three minors, one of them a girl. All of them have been arrested by the Security forces. In addition, another boat was towed to Porto Naos on Tuesday afternoon, which was intercepted 30 miles offshore by the Civil Guard, carrying 29 immigrants, 13 of whom were minors.
In total, there are 33 arrests of people who have arrived in the boats found in Ancones, San Juan, and Las Caletas. During Tuesday, the security forces have intercepted part of the immigrants from the boat that had been captured empty 500 meters from Caleta de Mero, which during the morning has been towed to Los Mármoles where the police are investigating possible traces for the identification of the rest of the irregular immigrants.
In addition to the detainees who were traveling in the boat, the Police have captured a man who was waiting on the coast for the immigrants, for facilitating illegal immigration, since he was acting as a contact with the people who arrived from Africa, according to sources of the investigation.
At the moment, the total number of people who have reached the coasts of Lanzarote is unknown, although it is confirmed that they all come from the Maghreb. The Civil Guard maintains the search device activated.
