Coalición Canaria in Arrecife has expressed its indignation at the statement sent by the Socialist Party in which they described the Sangineles festivities as "tacky, rude, vulgar and boorish" in recent years. On this occasion, according to the nationalists, the target is the people who have participated in the previous San Ginés festivities. Therefore, they have stated in a press release that "calling the people who danced or sang in previous years boorish is simply in bad taste and also denotes arrogance."

Likewise, CC "encourages the PSC to clarify who are the rude, boorish and tacky people, because if they are referring to the festival councilors of recent years, in recent decades this area has practically always been a socialist responsibility," they state in a press release.

According to Coalición Canaria and to give an example, "it was a socialist who imposed that Miss Lanzarote be chosen by a contest outside of Miss Spain," they assure. And, therefore, they consider them "responsible for the previous festival system."
