"When we talk about the safety of our schoolchildren, we cannot be thinking about parties or hiding behind competences or bureaucracy to look the other way," says Echedey Eugenio

The Nationalist Group (CC- PNC) in the Arrecife City Council will propose in the ordinary plenary session this September a budget modification that allows the installation of protective screens in the schools of the capital.

This initiative, the nationalists say, is already being implemented in other municipalities, such as El Rubio in Seville, "which have allocated money from unnecessary items or that in these circumstances take a back seat".

Thus, CC will propose the reduction of the money planned for Festivities, "since this year the events are suspended due to health measures and that the municipal budget provides more money than last year when there were festive events".

The nationalists state that they have carried out a market study that estimates the cost of installing each of these protection elements at around 60 euros and consider that, by reducing the Festivities item by 650,000 euros, the schoolchildren of the capital can be provided with this important protective element.

The group coordinated by Echedey Eugenio goes further and will propose that the installation of this material be managed through a nominated subsidy to the AMPAS of the schools, so that it can be counted on in the first days of the school year. “When we talk about the safety of our schoolchildren, we cannot be thinking about parties or hiding behind competences or bureaucracy to look the other way,” declares the nationalist spokesperson.
