Coalición Canaria has denounced the "deplorable state" of the Ajei School three days before the start of classes. “At this moment it seems that the facilities of this school have been bombed. There are no bathrooms, nor is the teachers' meeting room finished, one of the patios is burned and in the other they have placed a dangerous material for the safety of the students,” questions the local secretary of the party, Eduardo Díaz, who affirms that this "is just one more example of the lack of foresight of the Consistory directed by Isidro Pérez."

In his opinion, "the school is not currently in a position to open its doors, because the state in which many of the departments are in does not guarantee the safety of those who have to access them.” Furthermore, he affirms that the educational community "will be forced, among other things, to use barracks with chemical toilets."

“500 of the 650 students who attend the center will be affected, most of whom are from the first and second grades of primary school, in addition to all those who attend the dining room. It's crazy,” says Díaz, adding that another of the bathrooms would become unisex until the works are finished, and the teachers "will be limited to using exclusively the one in the Directorate." According to CC, "the only ones who will not be affected will be those in the Infant cycle."

The party warns that "the problem of the bathrooms is not the only one", since "the quality of the material used in one of the patios (the one for the first and second grades) has nothing to do with what was planned in the project, and could cause damage to the little ones."

“It looks like sandpaper, they didn't supervise what they were putting and, if some kid falls, there are going to be serious problems,” emphasizes Díaz, who also affirms that "another of the patios, where the students from third to sixth grade play, was burned with the fireworks of the patron saint festivities of San Bartolomé and has not been fixed either."

“They launched the fireworks from there without asking permission. The patio was fine until that moment, but it burned and has not been touched since the eve of San Bartolomé, August 23,” laments the local secretary.

The nationalists do not explain "the lack of foresight of the City Council" and do not understand "the absolute disinterest in conditioning the center before the start of classes", as they consider that the summer months "should have been enough for the Consistory to complete the works."

Now, they demand that the City Council "accelerate the work in the days that remain or, otherwise, delay the start of classes until these can be carried out with all kinds of guarantees and safety for the educational community."
