Catahysa Suárez (CC) took office this Thursday as the new councilor in the Arrecife City Council. With Suárez, the group led by Echedey Eugenio is complete again, after José Montelongo resigned from his position to take on new responsibilities in the Government of the Canary Islands.
From now on she will be the new councilor for Citizen Participation and New Technologies of the Arrecife City Council. Two areas that were directed until now by Maciot Cabrera who, for his part, assumes the area of Urbanism that Montelongo left.
The local secretary of the Arrecife nationalists, Jacobo Lemes, highlighted "the empathy and the capacity and vocation of service of his new partner who, although facing her first term as a public official, has a long history and experience as an active member of different groups and associations".
"Today she assumes her position as councilor with great responsibility and with the aim of transferring that vocation of service to the place from which important decisions are made for the city, as she herself assures", Lemes stressed.
In the same vein, Echedey Eugenio, spokesperson for the Nationalist Group in the City Council, says that he is proud to have a value like Cathaysa Suárez. "A person who knows how to reach our neighbors and prepared to take on new challenges with the aim of making Arrecife a city that we are all proud of."
Cathaysa Suárez Curbelo is 37 years old, is from Arrecife and a mother of two children. A technician in Early Childhood Education, she has also trained in Technical Production of Shows and Events.
