Public transport users can issue and recharge all current transport passes from this Thursday, February 1st, following the opening of an office at the Playa Blanca Bus Station. The office attends to users from Monday to Friday in continuous hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It should be remembered that until now they could only be managed at the Arrecife Bus Station or at the Interchange in the same city.
Yaiza facilitated the transfer of the premises at the southern station for the processing and updating of passes, with the office also functioning as a user information point. The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, recalls that "this has been one of the demands made by the City Council to the Cabildo of Lanzarote since the first meeting of the legislature to promote public transport in our municipality. Now we hope that it will also improve and that the necessary efforts will be made to solve the connectivity problems between different locations."
For her part, the Councilor for Transport of Yaiza, Beatriz Vázquez, who was present during the first hour of this Thursday at the opening of the office, maintains that "considering that there are up to eight classes of bus passes, it was totally incomprehensible that Yaiza users only had the option of traveling 37 kilometers to be able to access their bonuses. I appreciate the attention of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and especially the interest of the concessionaire 'Intercity Bus'."
"Perhaps the most demanded passes are the Canary resident pass or the general frequent traveler pass, but there are other bonuses that need the same attention, such as the large family pass, the disability, unemployed, pensioner or youth pass", among others.
