The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Agriculture, opens the period to apply for the reduction of the price of agricultural water to the primary sector of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
This reduction responds to the application of the discount on the invoice to consumers in the primary sector in the agricultural water rate, who request and meet the requirements, with the reduction for those attached to the agricultural regime being 0.50 euros/m³ and for those not attached to the agricultural regime being 0.80 euros.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, explains that water is an essential resource for the development of agriculture on the island due to the natural scarcity of this resource, so this aid aims to "reduce the cost of water that can sometimes be a significant burden for farmers."
"The Cabildo has made a great effort to intensify aid to professionals who generate employment and economic activity on the Island through the primary sector," indicates Corujo.
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Andrés Stinga, points out that "those who have a water meter with an agricultural-livestock rate, being the applicant the user or payer, may be beneficiaries of this aid."
Those interested in applying for the aid may do so until February 28, by appointment at the Agricultural Experimental Farm of the Cabildo of Lanzarote at 928 59 85 00 ext 3600, in the General Registry of the Cabildo of Lanzarote from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. without prior appointment or in the General Registries of the town halls, also electronically at the Electronic Headquarters of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
People who are already receiving the reduction in the price of water on their invoice must reapply for the subsidy by submitting Annex VIII Application form, Annex X Sworn statement and authorization for the use of data and the last paid water bill from October or November 2022 for each meter for which they want to apply for a subsidy.
Likewise, applicants who are doing so for the first time must submit Annex VIII Application form, Annex X Sworn statement and authorization for the use of data, a photocopy of DNI/CIF, the SIPGPAC plan, the last paid water bill from October or November 2022 for each meter for which they want to apply for a subsidy and the document proving ownership.
All the documentation and information to submit the application is collected on the website of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
