Lanzarote has suffered a weekend marked by the yellow warning for wind, which left the highest gusts in Tías, where 73 kilometers per hour were reached.

In Famara, the wind once again covered the road into the town with sand, so the Cabildo's tractor-shovel had to intervene to clear the road. According to the Emergency Consortium, the road service was in charge of cleaning the road so that vehicles could circulate safely.

In addition, the wind also knocked down a palm tree in Costa Teguise, which fell on the sidewalk and invaded part of the road. In this case, the firefighters were notified but did not arrive to act, since when they were on their way they had to intervene in a traffic accident. Afterwards, when they went to the place where the palm tree had fallen, it had already been removed from the road.

The yellow warning has also forced the cancellation of outdoor events during the weekend, such as the gala of comparasas that the City Council of Yaiza had planned in the Plaza de La Alameda.

The pre-alert for wind will remain active until 17:59 this Monday, with the possibility of maximum gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour, especially affecting the interior and southern area of the Island.
