The new premises of the Tourist Information Office on Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen are now open to the public, after the improvement works that have been carried out on the facilities. Since last Friday, those who visit the tourist town can find out information at this point since last Friday.
Adaptation, provision and renovation works have been carried out in the office by the Island Council. The works were carried out under the so-called Tourist Infrastructure Plan of the Government of the Canary Islands and with an investment of more than 40,000 euros. The office was received last week by the Tías City Council, after the visit made by the technicians and the works manager.
"The new tourist information point has been designed with a modern profile, equipped with the latest technology and completely adapted to the environment. Thus, among the works carried out, the change of windows and doors, improvement of pergolas, redirection of rainwater, solar pre-installation, as well as new furniture stand out," they explain from the Consistory.

For the Councilor for Tourism of the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, "with these improvements the image of this information office for tourists and visitors has been completely changed, offering much more comfortable and modern facilities."
An average of 200 tourists a day
Vizcaíno also highlights that "this new infrastructure has a wider public service hours, in fact, the office, attended by a tourist information officer, will be open every day of the year, including holidays, from 10 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon."
"This office is the most important tourist information point in Puerto del Carmen, which serves an average of 200 tourists every day," explains the Councilor for Tourism, who anticipates that "for next year, the intention of the Tías Government group is to open a new tourist office in another strategic area, such as the Varadero de La Tiñosa." Amado Vizcaíno has finally highlighted the importance for the tourism sector of "personalized attention and information to our tourists and visitors."
