Last Tuesday, the National Police held the celebration for the feast of the Guardian Angels, patron saint of the police force. During the tribute, which took place in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park in Arrecife, several honors and mentions were made to institutions and individuals.
In this way, the award received by the Health Services Management of the Lanzarote Health Area, awarded with the Plaque of Honor of the Police Station, stood out. The decoration received by the Management is a recognition of the work carried out by the health entity and the work they have done in assisting migrants who have arrived on the coasts of Lanzarote in recent months.
The award was collected by José Luis Aparicio, manager of the Health Services of Lanzarote, who expressed his total gratitude on his behalf and that of the health workers, of whom he highlighted the work carried out during emergency situations in the face of the arrival of boats to the island and their subsequent attention to all those who need it. In the same way, he concluded by pointing out the gratitude towards the Police officers during those occasions.
José Luis Gutiérrez, chief commissioner of Arrecife, explained that the Plaque of Honor is a meritorious distinction with which he wants to show "the gratitude for the collaboration and support that the Health Management offers continuously and especially in the migratory crisis that we have had to experience." He also added that this recognition should serve as motivation to continue in this line and maintain the levels of efficiency and vocation "that health teams show day after day," concluded the chief commissioner.
In addition to the Management, the police force wanted to make special mention of Francisco Domínguez Jiménez, owner of one of the facilities where the National Police housed the newly arrived immigrants to the island, the Arpa company, creator of the ATAC, and finally, the Delegation of the Port of Arrecife, all were mentioned by the security force as recognition after their collaboration with the Police in various ways.
